It is with a touch of sadness that the owners, Ida and Leonard Engelberg, and staff of Pot Pourri Gift Shoppe announce their retirement sale beginning Thursday, October 9th, 2008. Because of your loyalty throughout the years, you, as a special friend, are being given first notice of this storewide sale. We represent some of the best lines in the gift industry: Department 56, Aromatique, Arthur Court, Sandicast, The Good Earth Pottery, Claire Burke, Votivo Candles, Trapp Candle, Boyd's Bears, Lampe Berger, Nao by Lladro, Harmony Kingdom, Ebony Visions, All God's Children, Beijo Bags, Burt's Bees, OKA'B shoes, and Willow Tree by Demdaco, to name just a few.

All gift items, fixtures and equipment, are included in this sale. There will be weekly in store specials and additional unannounced discounts on our website: www.potpourrigiftshoppe.com. Discounts will range from 10% to 50%.

Ida and Leonard Engelberg have operated Pot Pourri Gift Shoppe and Village Pharmacy (formerly located in Fox Meadows) since 1972. Our family was raised in these stores and our two grown sons now live in St. Louis and Los Angeles respectively. Our employees are also part of our family and always will be. Anne Chase started with Village Pharmacy as a teenager and has now been with us 36 years. She is now a grandmother. Mildred Scobey has 16 years and Betty Friedl has 12 years. Over these years we have been very fortunate to have played a small part in shaping the future lives of many teenagers. They started with us as stockboys, or cashiers - young and inexperienced - in their first jobs. They are now engineers, language specialists, schoolteachers, policemen, and three have become pharmacists. They come back with their families and share their life stories. Through them we know we have been successful. Frequently, we hear your stories also. You, our valued friends, tell of learning to drive while on trips to the store, or of just coming to see how everyone was dressed for Halloween or Christmas. We will miss that most!

But, now, with a heavy heart, yet still blessed with good health, we will CLOSE THE DOORS forever on Pot Pourri Gift Shoppe and Village Pharmacy, and start another life with time left to do "our thing."
